Malik Berkati is a Swiss journalist and political scientist based in Berlin since 1998. He has worked in various positions at festivals in French-speaking Switzerland (PR and program adviser). He is editor-in-chief of a bilingual (French-German) international online magazine j:mag and correspondent for various newspapers (dailies & weeklies) and magazines in Berlin. He is a film critic for more than 20 years and travels the world of festivals with a penchant for Eastern and Northern European cinema as well as Asian cinema. He was a jury member at festivals in Geneva, Berlin, Wiesbaden, Duhok and a jury member of the German Film Critics’ Association (VdFk) in the category Best German Documentary 2017.
