A strong crime story directed by Dennis Villeneuve who doesn’t have to prove his talent for telling dark stories i.e. by directing the captivating ‘Labyrinth’ (2013) or the hypnotizing ‘Blade Runner 2049’ (2017). This time, the Canadian director located the action of his film in the world of drug cartels. Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), an FBI agent, leads the investigation. Her guide through the subsequent circles of cocaine hell is the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), a CIA collaborator of Mexican descent.
